Mock Client
Overview
I was given a fake client, in this case a small donut shop located on one of the islands of Hawaii. For this assignment I was tasked with creating a logo, a business card, and a printable item that fits the brand (donut box).

Criteria to follow
1.Tropical
2.Colors
3.Sweets
Adding tropical elements is essential for a company that is based in one of the most tropical places in the world. I decided to add things like mountains, palm trees, and beaches.
Colors are a very important part of a brand, they can convey what type of message a brand is trying to convey. If I decided to add darker colors, the message of the type of food this brand offers would not be conveyed correctly, potentially discouraging new customers.
With the client owning a donut shop you would obviously want to add elements of the sweets treats that the business provides. I did this by adding donuts into everything; the box is a giant donut, the logo is just a donut with the lands of Hawaii, and I added a bunch of little donuts on the business card, when printed the donut holes are cut out.
Logos
Created three different logos to figure out what type would be best suited for the brand.
For each logo I decided to pick colors that fit the tropical theme criteria and would work well on a donut. The fonts were simple and have a tropical feel to them, especially with the slogan on the word mark logo.

Business Card
Creating a one sided business card that fits the theme of the brand and looks interesting while being able to display all the information needed.
*The donut holes were able to be cut out for added style*
Printable Item - Donut Box
Since I was designing for a donut shop, I thought the appropriate item to create was a donut box. Keeping with the theme of the logo and business card I used the same colors and made the box look like a donut/tropical beach.
Final Thoughts
Even though I am not really into print, I enjoyed working on this project. The logo and business card designing process is pretty standard, but the donut box really made me think how different something is going to look when it’s printed. This project definitely had a lot of problem solving involved in it with the box printing process not going as planned at times. I learned to perceiver and get it done in the end.
